Use cases
Crypto account opening
Identify the person and screen them before the first deposit.
The job
An exchange or wallet service has to know who is behind an account before money moves in. That means an identity check, a screening against sanctions, PEP lists and adverse media, and a way to check applicants against your own blocklist.
The flow
- Document. The applicant photographs an identity document. It is read and checked for fraud. See document verification.
- Selfie and face match. The selfie is matched to the document portrait. See face verification.
- Liveness. The applicant moves the face through two ovals. See liveness.
- Repeat users and lists. The face is searched among earlier verified faces and checked against your blocklist. See face search.
- AML screening. The applicant is screened against sanctions of OFAC, EU, UK and UN plus 50+ national lists, and against PEP lists and adverse media. See AML screening.
- Decision. The account opens for deposits only when your rules are met. A reviewer can make a manual decision in the dashboard.
Scenario setup
In the scenario editor you add the AML step to the scenario, switch on repeat-user search and the blocklist, and set the thresholds and rules.
What your system receives
A session status and the results of each step. AML results are announced by the DATABASE_CHECKS_COMPLETE webhook, and the verdicts are read after that event. See webhooks and session statuses.

Questions, answered plainly
Is AML screening part of the verification price?
No. AML screening is billed separately, at $0.40 a check.
Can I check applicants against my blocklist?
Yes. Faces on your blocklist are checked for every new session.
Can the platform flag one person opening many accounts?
Repeat-user search looks for the face of the new user among earlier verified faces, so you can act on a returning face.
Can I keep screening after the account is open?
Yes. Monitored profiles are re-screened every day.
