AML screening
AML screening documentation
Sanctions, PEP and adverse media checks, as part of a KYC session.
What it is
International AML screening checks a person against sanctions lists, PEP lists and adverse media, through a licensed data provider. In the platform it is a database check of a KYC session. The check runs after the session itself finishes, and your system reads the result with the REST API or receives it in a webhook.

How the pieces fit
- In the dashboard, you build a scenario and switch on the database checks you need. See KYC and AML in the dashboard.
- Your user completes the session in the web widget, or your backend creates the session with the REST API.
- The checks run after the session finishes.
- The
DATABASE_CHECKS_COMPLETEwebhook tells your backend that all checks of the session are terminal, and you read the result with database check results.
One rule to remember
A check that never ran arrives looking like a clean one. Read outcome before passed. See retrieving the result.
