Gig worker onboarding

Onboard workers remotely with a document, an age check and a face match.

The job

Platforms and staffing agencies take on many workers who never visit an office. They need to know that each worker is a real person with a real document, and that the person is the one who is later at work.

The flow

  1. Invitation. Your system sends the worker a link to the verification, or the worker opens it from your app. See QR hand-off and one-time links.
  2. Document. The worker photographs an identity document. It is read and checked for fraud. See document verification.
  3. Age check. The date of birth is compared with the age window of your scenario. See age check.
  4. Face match. The selfie is matched to the document portrait. See face verification.
  5. Approval. Your system activates the worker account, or sends the case to a reviewer.
  6. Later: the returning worker. A returning user is compared with a stored reference face.

Scenario setup

Build the onboarding scenario in the scenario editor: the steps, the documents and countries you accept, and the age window.

What your system receives

A session status and a list of results for each step. See session statuses.

Questions, answered plainly

Which checks does a new worker go through?

A document check, a face match between the selfie and the document portrait, and an age check against your age window.

What happens when a worker returns?

A returning user is compared with a stored reference face.

Can I invite many workers at once?

Yes. Generate single-use links and send them through your own channels. See bulk link invitations.

What does the platform check?

The identity document and the person: the document is read and checked for fraud, and the selfie is matched to the document portrait.
